Hi Everyone!
I’m your Creative Coach, Anne, and I am the owner of Nest + Canvas. I’m a “jack of all trades” who is energetic, makes terrible jokes, and LOOOOVVVVEEES coffee and dogs. Sometimes my furry crew even joins us in the Studio. Also, I like to tell stories and sing like a Disney Princess in my classes. I can’t wait to help you get crafty.
I believe everyone, child, teen, and adult, has a creative spark in them. We just all express it in a different way. I also know that exploring the creative process has multiple positive benefits for each of us. Experiencing art, crafts, and other creative outlets, we learn new ways to embrace ideas, challenges, problem-solving, understanding, personal growth, and intellectual development. Equally, being creative, whether or not you believe in your own personal creativity, is just plain fun!
All of these reasons are why I founded Nest + Canvas. I hope to inspire a sense of enjoyment, individual growth, community, support, and of course, self-pride in each of my creators, no matter age or experience level. Through our varying workshops, I aim for our creators to try new things and be a part of a positive community.
I can’t wait for you to experience Nest + Canvas for yourself!
A little more about me!
I grew up in Gaston County and graduated from Gaston Day School in 2002. I moved to Savannah, GA, to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design. I graduated with my Bachelor of Fine Art in Fashion Design, with a minor in Accessory Design, in 2006. Also completed graduate-level coursework in Graphic Design and Arts Administration. From 2006 to 2018, I work with several organizations, specializing in planning, development, growth, compliance, and strategic operations. Don’t let those areas confuse you, though. I was fortunate enough to always occupy roles that incorporated my design and problem-solving skills with my corporate responsibilities.
In 2018, I decided to branch out on my own and started freelancing, but I still felt like I had more to offer. I had been envisioning a place where people of all ages could explore different creative avenues in one location. I knew it was time to make my crazy idea a reality, and I opened the Studio in March 2019. And boy, has it been a crazy ride, but I’m still here and still getting crafty!
Let’s create great things together!!!
